These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of compare.healthcare (the “Site”), which is operated by Lighthouse Health Insurance Agency (“Lighthouse,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Site, or by submitting a request through it, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

1. Our Service

The Site lets you request information about health insurance coverage and be connected with licensed insurance agents, brokers, and insurance carriers. Please understand that:

  • Lighthouse is an independent insurance agency. We are not an insurance company and do not issue insurance policies.
  • We are not affiliated with or endorsed by any government agency, Medicare, or the federal or any state Health Insurance Marketplace or exchange, and the Site does not provide access to any Marketplace.
  • The Site does not provide insurance quotes or display complete information about every plan available in your area. We do not offer every plan available in your area.
  • Submitting a request does not guarantee that you will be contacted, receive a quote, or be approved for coverage. Coverage, pricing, and eligibility are determined by insurance carriers and vary by location and individual circumstances.
  • For information on all of your options, you may also visit HealthCare.gov or your state’s Marketplace website.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the United States to use the Site. By using the Site, you confirm that you meet these requirements.

3. Information You Submit

You agree that the information you submit is accurate, current, and complete, and that it is your own information or information you are authorized to provide. You may not submit information about another person without their permission. Our collection and use of your information is described in our Privacy Policy.

If you provide your consent on the Site, you agree that Lighthouse and the licensed agents and insurance carriers we work with may contact you at the phone number and email address you provide, including by calls and text messages that may use automated technology or prerecorded or artificial voices, even if your number is on a federal, state, or internal Do-Not-Call list. Your consent is not a condition of purchasing any product or service. Message and data rates may apply. You may revoke your consent at any time by replying STOP to a text message, asking to be placed on our Do-Not-Call list during a call, or contacting us as described in Section 15. You confirm that you are the subscriber or customary user of the phone number you provide.

5. No Professional Advice

Content on the Site is for general informational purposes only. It is not insurance, legal, tax, financial, or medical advice and is not a recommendation of any particular plan. Please review plan documents carefully and speak with a licensed agent or other qualified professional about your specific situation.

6. Compensation Disclosure

Lighthouse may receive compensation from insurance carriers, agents, brokers, and other partners, including when we share information you submit with them or when you purchase a policy. This compensation may influence which companies contact you. Using the Site is free for consumers.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information, or submit information on behalf of someone else without authorization;
  • Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
  • Use bots, scrapers, or other automated means to access the Site or submit forms;
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Site, its servers, or its security; or
  • Copy, modify, or distribute the Site’s content except as allowed by these Terms.

8. Intellectual Property

The Site and its content, including text, graphics, logos, and design, are owned by Lighthouse or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive license to view the Site for your personal, non-commercial use. All other rights are reserved. Third-party trademarks and images belong to their respective owners.

9. Third-Party Services and Links

The Site may link to or connect you with third parties, such as insurance carriers, agents, and government websites. We do not control and are not responsible for third parties’ products, services, websites, content, or privacy practices. Any policy you purchase is a contract between you and the insurance carrier.

10. Disclaimers

THE SITE AND ITS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT ANY RATES, SAVINGS, OR PLANS MENTIONED ON THE SITE WILL BE AVAILABLE TO YOU.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LIGHTHOUSE AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND PARTNERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR COVERAGE, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR ANY THIRD-PARTY PRODUCT OR SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SITE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100). SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THESE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lighthouse and its owners, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Site, including submitting false information or information about another person without authorization.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and by applicable federal law. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Site will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts, except where prohibited by law.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time by posting a new version on this page and changing the effective date. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
